What Does OBSL Mean?

OBSL means Old Bridge Soccer League, which is also referred to as Old Bridge Youth Soccer League or simply OBYS. It was established in 1984 and operates as one of the oldest continuously running amateur youth soccer clubs in New Jersey. Based out of Old Bridge Township, New Jersey, OBYS serves nearly 1300 children each season from all over Central Jersey. The league comprises players from ages 4-19, providing skilled training and competitive games for most age levels on both coed teams and girls-only teams. The league provides competitively registered teams that compete in various divisions within their state's association including NJYS (New Jersey Youth Soccer), EPYSA (Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association) as well as NJCUPSA (NJ Cup State Association). Additionally, the league also participates in Regional National Championships such as Region 1 Premier League and US Club Soccer's Super Y League where its players can gain exposure on a national level.

Goals Of OBSL

The main objective of this organization is to teach young players life lessons through good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, respect for self and others while making sure that every player develops socially and athletically. The club focuses on helping promote lifelong learning opportunities by using soccer activities such as running drills, playing matches against other clubs/teams within their region/district/state-level competitions. Doing so allows them to nurture individual talent while developing a sense of responsibility towards their team mates enabling them to play at their full potential without fear or intimidation from any opponents or external forces. In addition to this goal, OBYS also promotes responsible behavior during games by enforcing fair play rules like no “trash talking” or other disrespectful actions towards opponents or referees—something that some players may not be aware of before joining the league but eventually learn throughout their time spent with OBSL programs and events
