What does BSBC mean in CHURCHES

History

Starting from humble beginnings as a small group of members meeting in rented premises, BSBC soon grew enough for its members to purchase land on Brunswick Street in Melbourne's inner eastern suburbs to build the first permanent structure. This substantial red brick building opened its doors to the public in 1902 and officially became known as Brunswick Street Baptist Church. Throughout its history, the church has been involved in local education initiatives as well as providing meaningful engagement with others through mission partnerships both here in Australia and overseas. Today the church continues its commitment towards ministering within our city and being a "light" that shines truth and hope into our communities.

What you will find at BSBC

At BSBC there are regular weekly services that offer inspiring preaching from our pastor alongside times of reflective worship involving contemporary music alongside traditional hymns. Throughout the week there are also many small groups that meet such as bible studies and support groups which provide genuine friendship and practical help during difficult seasons or times of transition within peoples lives. Additionally throughout the year there are special events held such as seminars or conferences that focus on developing peoples knowledge about Christianity or exploring social justice themes from a Christian perspective—offering great insight for believers & nonbelievers alike!
