What does CIID mean in UNCLASSIFIED

CIID stands for C I Instructional Design. It is an educational philosophy that emphasizes the need for learners to be actively engaged in their learning experience.

CIID was developed by instructional designer Donna Reish over the course of her 25-plus years as a classroom teacher and educational consultant.

CIID takes into consideration the different needs of each individual learner, and ensures the curriculum is crafted to meet those needs. It focuses on creating curricula that are engaging, relevant and effective, unlike other instructional design philosophies which may take a more general approach to curriculum construction.

Activities involving CIID can include using multimedia resources, setting up interactive activities and simulations, developing assessments and rubrics, providing feedback to learners based on their performance and engaging in reflective practices such as journaling or case studies. All of these activities aim to create an optimal learning environment for learners so they can reach their full potential.
