What does SIFE mean in NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

SIFE focuses on four key issues: markets and enterprise, financial literacy, health and nutrition, and environment and natural resource sustainability. Through these four initiatives, their mission is to empower individuals to become successful entrepreneurs and business leaders.

By providing student members with access to resources such as mentorships from local business leaders as well as access to global networks for peer-to-peer learning opportunities. Businesses can also provide support for project funding or contribute expertise by hosting events such as job fairs or case competitions.

Teams usually develop projects that address local needs related to their vision statement with guidance from faculty mentors. Teams have tackled a variety of projects such as microfinance opportunities for small businesses, health education campaigns in schools, environmental protection efforts at an international level, development of financial literacy curriculums for high schools students etc.

Teams are typically organized by university where each team consists of student members that have different roles such as president, VP finance/ fundraising, VP operations/ recruitment etc.. Each team has a faculty mentor who acts as an adviser and facilitator for the activities run through their university's chapter.

Membership for SIFE is open to any full-time college student enrolled at universities that offer an approved program managed by Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE). Each university will have its own unique requirements on how you can join their individual chapter which can be accessed through their website or by contacting your campus division representative.

Joining SIFE offers participants a range of valuable experiences including working with teams across nations on projects related to business ethics & social responsibility; developing entrepreneurship & innovation skills; engaging in professional development activities; attending conferences & summits; gaining industry exposure & specialised knowledge; networking opportunities with global professionals; gaining direct experience working with businesses & non-governmental organisations.
