What does SNIL mean in SCOTTISH

SNIL stands for Scottish Newcastle India Limited. It is a joint venture between Scottish & Newcastle, UK and Breweries (India) Ltd. SNIL was among the first multinational companies to enter India in 1992 with a mission to bring world-class beer brands such as Foster's, Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664 and Strongbow ciders to Indian consumers.

As stated previously, SNIL was established in 1992 in partnership with two leading companies - Scottish & Newcastle, UK and Breweries (India) Ltd.. In 1997 it became the first multinational company to own an Indian brewery when it took over Shaw Wallace's facility in Old Goa. Ever since then it has continued growing its presence both domestically and internationally.

SNIL has an impressive portfolio of international and domestic brands which include Foster's, Heineken, Kronenbourg 1664 and Strongbow ciders from its international partners as well as some locally brewed products such as Old Monk Rum, Kingfisher Premium Lager Beer, Kingfisher Ultra Max Lager Beer etc.
