History

TSBY began its operations as a narrow gauge railroad linking the towns of Vassar, Millington and Caro. In 1901 TSBY converted to standard gauge and extended the line from Caro to Owendale and eventually reached the town of Bad Axe later that same year. By 1926 TSBY had reached its current track length with a branch from Owendale to Sebewaing. Over the years, TSBY has improved its track infrastructure by modernizing its equipment, improving signaling systems and upgrading its bridges to accommodate heavier traffic loads.
